           FAQ’s

What type of yoga will I be taught?

Hatha and Vinyasa.

A yoga class described as ‘Hatha’ will typically involve a set of physical postures (known as asana) and breathing techniques (known as pranayama). These are practised as slow, static posture holds. Hatha is a good, basic style of yoga for beginners. This form of yoga sets the basic foundation of most styles of yoga and is slower-paced with no flow involved. Hatha yoga style is know as the ‘yoga of poses’ as it gives you limitless possibilities to dive into different postures ranging from beginner to advanced level when practised regularly.

Hatha yoga truly is a great introduction for anyone who would like to start yoga and involve it within their lives. Typically Hatha will include Pranayama (Breath work), Sun Salutation (Warm up flow), Asana (Poses) and Savasana (Letting go). All these areas of the classes are carefully explained and guided,  so everyone can benefit from them.

Vinyasa is a style of yoga characterized by stringing postures together so that you move from one to another, seamlessly, using breath. e.

What areas do you cover for 1-2-1 sessions at my home?

Yoga at home sessions (1-2-1) are applicable to residents living within the following postcodes: SS5, SS6, SS7, SS9, SS11 and SS12

How long is each class/session?

Each class/session is one hour long (we do ask that you arrive ten minutes before to set up and get settled into the room).

What should I wear?

We would recommend any formal fitness or leisurewear that you feel comfortable in.

Leggings (that do not ride up or need constant pulling up), tracksuit bottoms, shorts (if you feel comfortable in them).

long sleeved tops, T-shirts (helps if they are slightly fitted) Comfortable and a secure sports bra.

It is advised to bring a jumper in the cooler weather for the beginning and end of class (when the session is less active).

Hooded, or tops that will cover your head in certain poses (asanas) whilst you are in the more active parts of the class are best avoided.

Any jewellery, like long necklaces, dangly or hooped earrings and bracelets should be removed prior to the class commencing.

Shoes are not permitted in the studio therefore we do ask that these are removed when you enter. This is to keep the yoga area pure (and clean) for all.

You are welcome to wear yoga socks in the yoga studio.

MOST IMPORTANTLY YOU SHOULD FEEL COMFORTABLE.

What should I bring with me?

We ask that you bring a bottle of water, a jumper (in the cooler weather), a cushion or yoga posture cushion (if you have one), sanitiser (although we have sanitiser at the door to use as you enter and for any time throughout the class).

We would recommend in investing in a yoga mat (this does not have to be a costly investment).

Blocks and bricks would also be beneficial for classes. We use blocks and bricks in a lot of the classes, so this would not be a waste of time purchase.

There is a limited amount of equipment available for hire at a £1 non-refundable cost per item.

For Client’s first session any equipment needed can be provided for free.

What if I have an injury?

At the beginning of each class the teacher will ask if anyone is suffering with any aches, pains or small injuries. This enables the teacher to adapt or give alternative instructions to the individual in order to help prevent any further discomfort to that person. Thus allowing the individual to gain as much from the session as they possibly can. If you do not feel happy to express this detail whilst in front of other people, then please do not hesitate to discuss with the teacher before the session begins in privacy.

You will be asked when registering with us to fill out a medical form which will give you the opportunity to explain any injuries you may have that are of a more long term nature.

PLEASE NOTE:- All forms are completely confidential and will not be shared. Our clients privacy is important to us. In some circumstances if the teacher feels that further medical assistance should be sought by an individual prior to them starting (or at any point during their time with them), the teacher may request permission for details of all, or certain aspects of the forms to be disclosed to a relevant and medically qualified professional to help and assist the individual further.

Is the studio and equipment clean?

The studio and equipment are cleaned to a high standard before and after every session. This is done daily. Windows are open all of the time and, the door will be opened half an hour prior to sessions commencing, in order to allow ventilation (the door will be closed at the start of the session due to the nature of the class).

Shoes are not permitted in the yoga studio therefore we ask you to remove these at the door upon entry. Shoes should be placed on the shoe rack in the studio. Any bags and belongings are to be put to one side, this helps to keep the floorspace clean, clear and safe for all.

Sanitiser is provided at the door when entering and we ask that you sanitise when you come into class. You are very welcome to bring your own.

Antibacterial wipes are also available if anyone needs them.

What happens if I am late?

Due to the nature of the classes, a quiet, relaxed and tranquil atmosphere is paramount and should therefore be undisturbed. Whilst up to 5 minutes late is accepted in most circumstances, unfortunately anything longer will impact greatly on others in the class and their practise, therefore refusal of entry is likely. If you know you will be late (up to 5 minutes) then it would be very much appreciated if you could contact the teacher to make them aware of this. If you are late (5 minutes or over) unfortunately no refunds for the session will be given.

What happens if I need to cancel?

We do understand and appreciate that some circumstances can prevent us from being able to get to classes, therefore staying in contact with your teacher and keeping them informed is advised.

If you are aware that you can not attend a class then, please contact your teacher as soon as possible and she will be able to book you onto another class or refund you for the class. The teacher will need at least 24 hours notice in order to do this. If it is less than 24 hours notice, then the teacher will be unable to refund you (unless in exceptional circumstances where teacher discretion will apply) but irrespective of this, they will still be able to offer you an alternate class for a time that is convenient to you.

What if I have problems with my computer or wifi and I can not log on to a remote session?

Technology can let us down and is so unpredictable at times. If you are unable to log in or are having problems attending a remote class that you are booked onto with us, please do not despair! It is advised that you log in ten minutes prior to the class starting to allow yourself to resolve any such technical issues. If you still cannot log in and you are unable to join us for that session, you must notify the teacher via text straight away of the problems. The teacher can then rebook you to another session when convenient.

How do I pay for a session/Can I get a refund?

You can pay as you go for sessions either via a bank transfer when booking, we also accept contactless payments.

If you have given a minimum of 24 hours notice period for cancelling and paid via bank transfer then you are entitled to a full refund or instead you are welcome to re-book onto another class.

If cancellation period is less than 24 Hours notice then the teacher will be unable to refund you (unless in exceptional circumstances where teacher discretion will apply).

What is the notice period for cancellations to classes?

The teacher will need a minimum of 24 hours notice of any cancellation to classes, this includes any group session, 1-2-1's (at the studio or at a clients home) and any remote class.
